Of all the roles I held at McClatchy, art direction was central to my work. It was thrilling to guide creative projects from concept to completion and required versatility. The most rewarding aspect was collaboration with talented colleagues. We worked together to bring ideas to life and that added depth and purpose to every challenge.

Product marketing

McClatchy launched several new products during my time on the team. This allowed us to connect with prospective and current subscribers through a range of materials, that included emails, digital ads, social media content, videos, and print.

One standout campaign supported the launch of a voter guide resource across McClatchy markets. Our team produced a comprehensive suite of assets to highlight its features and encourage readers to explore. The campaign used acquisition and engagement emails, Snapchat, Instagram, and print ads to reach and engage the audience across multiple channels.

Traditions

Our holiday marketing tradition embraced the nostalgia of our readers. For this campaign, we showcased reader-generated content to create a warm, nostalgic email series that resonated with subscribers and attracted potential new ones.

Essential. Dependable. Local.

Readers told us again and again the most important thing McClatchy markets had to offer was up-to-the-minute local news. There were three words that kept surfacing in our reader feedback: essential, dependable and local. We built this campaign around these words. We built off of this campaign with related social proof creative.
